We’re starting to plan our summer wardrobes here at Sew Over It – lots of talk of favourite dress patterns and which styles we’re into this SS15. Alex has a By Hand London Kim Dress on her sewing table, Rachel is making a Grainline Studio Morris Blazer and Lisa’s half way through another of her beloved Bettys. It’s not been hard choosing the patterns, but with a whole lot of new stock just arrived, deciding which fabric to choose has been a whole other story!
If you’re having similar trouble, we’re on hand to help. With sunny skies and shimmering seas in mind, this week we’re thinking blues…
For the prettiest pair of summery Ultimate Trousers, look no further than Chelsea Rose. With 3% elastane, this stretch cotton will make sure you are both looking funky and feeling comfy.
We love Atelier Brunette fabric and we know you do too. Lovely crisp cotton lawns that make perfect lightweight dresses, blouses and shirts. This fabric would work beautifully for the Ultimate Shirt, the Vintage Shirt Dress and so many more.
This gorgeous rayon challis is the ideal summer sewing companion. It’s calling out to be paired with the Silk Cami pattern.
Flamingos on a dress? Why of course. This blue and pink beauty would make a fun and summery Ultimate Shift Dress.
Last but not least – and because we can’t resist a stripe – it’s this nautical navy stripe cotton drill. A bit heavy for summer clothes we reckon, but wouldn’t this make the most perfect Weekend Bag?? If it’s stylish luggage you’re planning on making this summer, look no further.
