It has been so nice to see the reaction to the release of our Cowl Neck Dress pattern. We are pleased to see you agree she is a winner!
We have run the class for a couple of years and over that time I have made myself many many versions. I have to say though, the ones I made for the photoshoot are by far my favourite.
I wanted to show the versatility of the pattern and the garment itself – it can be smart or casual and worn with so many separates.
I made this dress with long sleeves from a lovely fabric we had in the shop – so lovely in fact, it has sold out! (Hopefully we will have some more in stock soon!) It has a gorgeous softness and weight to it and is perfect for this pattern. Soooo comfortable to wear. I feel sassy and confident in this littler number. I wear it with knee high boots in the day and heels for the evening or a smarter occasion.
I made the red top variation out of our staple roma ponte jersey, which we have in lots of colours and are getting loads more.
The striped one is made from one of our favourite Breton-esque fabrics.
I think the red one goes really well with my black Decades of Style Empire Waist trousers. It feels very chic. Plus it’s really warm jersey so I feel nice and cosy at the same time.
The stripy version I am wearing today with my jeans!
It still feels really cold in London (boo!) so I need to wear it with a cardi, but in summer I can see this being on high rotation.
I’m looking forward to seeing all of your versions out there in the wild. Don’t forget about our #SOIshowoff competition!
