The Zoe Dress is a semi-fitted shift dress with innovative design lines. To create Zoe’s gentle fit, the side seams have been brought forward and allow perfectly placed in seam pockets within a slim, flattering silhouette. French darts at the bust add additional waist and bust shaping. The neckline is finished with a facing and the princess seamed back with a neat concealed zip.
Whilst sewing up your Zoe Dress, you’ll learn to:
- use toiles to help you alter your dress pattern
- make flat paper pattern alterations
- sew princess seams and french darts
- construct in seam pockets
- insert a concealed zip, into a dress & facing
You will leave with the finished dress and your own pattern that has been altered to fit you, so you can make the dress again.

The Zoe Dress works best in light to medium weight woven cotton. Think denim and structured cottons for your weekend version, or stretch cottons & suiting fabrics for workwear Zoe.
We have the perfect fabric available on our online shop. You’ll also need a 22″ concealed zip.
Pattern sizes: 8-20. If you are outside or may be bordering on this range of sizes, please contact us a week before the class as we will need to grade a pattern especially for you. If it is just one size up or down, we will do this free of charge, but if it is more then there may be a small fee.
