Kimono Jacket PDF Sewing Pattern

£7.50

Update your handmade wardrobe this spring with the Kimono Jacket, the perfect piece for layering in style! Stylish, flattering and comfortable, the Kimono Jacket adds a touch of effortless charm to any outfit.

With its 1920’s elegance, the long version exudes Gatsby glamour, while the shorter version makes a perfect pairing with skinny jeans and a simple t-shirt, taking an everyday look from blah to bewitching.

Ideal for summer holidays, the Kimono Jacket makes a beautiful beach cover-up, so you can stay out of the sun in style. In a fun, bright fabric we also think it would make wonderful festival attire. (Go wild with the pompom trim!) And as Lisa will attest, it’s very pregnancy-friendly!

One of our favourite patterns for having fun with fabrics, you can really make a statement with the Kimono Jacket. Think big modern florals in bright colours, bold monochrome geometrics or dainty subtle prints; whatever you choose, the Kimono Jacket sewing pattern is ready to soak up your personality.

The Kimono Jacket is made of just four pieces, making it a great pattern for beginners getting to grips with lightweight drapey fabrics. With no tricky zips or buttonholes, it’s quick to construct. A satisfying evening project!

Sewing Level
The Kimono Jacket sewing pattern is perfect for advanced beginner sewers onwards. With fairly simple construction, the difficulty comes mostly in working with lightweight, drapey fabrics, so we recommend you have some experience of sewing these. With its super simple design, our Silk Cami pattern is a great place to start. As it’s designed to be loose, fitting is super easy with the Kimono Jacket.

Fabric Suggestions
For the Kimono Jacket we recommend lightweight woven fabrics with lots of drape, such as rayon, viscose, georgette and lightweight crepes. For more beginner stitchers, it would also look lovely in a lightweight cotton such as lawn or voile. With minimal seams, the Kimono Jacket makes a statement with a big bold print, but looks equally lovely with a small repeat for an understated look. Fabric Requirements
The Kimono Jacket sewing pattern is available in sizes XS-XL, which equates roughly to UK sizes 8-18. Due to the loose-fitting nature of the Kimono Jacket, if you are outside of these sizes, it is possible that the pattern will also fit you. See the size chart for details on measurements and fabric requirements.

Like all our patterns, the sizes are nested to make it easier to grade between the sizes, depending on your measurements.

The downloadable pattern file contains:

The Kimono Jacket sewing pattern is 32 pages long.

So what is a PDF pattern?
A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home. Simply download, print, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.

Never used a PDF pattern before and would like some help? Learn everything you need to know in our handy Guide to Assembling PDF Patterns over on our blog!

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A DOWNLOADABLE PATTERN WHICH YOU HAVE TO PRINT AT HOME. At the end of the checkout process you will receive an email with the link to your pattern and instructions.

Happy sewing!
