Christmas Party Dress

My project this week was to make a fabulous dress for the Arlington christmas party. I knew there would be some glamorous people there so wanted make sure I was representing! Unfortunately, I left it a little last minute so it was panic central yesterday afternoon….

As I had already tried mixing Betty with Joan I knew that worked so was going for that dress but with an extra Christmas twist.

I thought tartan was nice and Christmassy. This particular fabric which we sell in the shop, has a crepe-like texture.

I decided to make the skirt shorter than usual as wanted it to look a bit more contemporary and also wasnt planning on wearing a petticoat underneath. And then for the Christmas twist, I made the neck tie thicker and longer and tied it in a bow!

The dress went down well…. and so did the champagne 🙂
