1940's Wrap Dress Cut Short

I am really getting into my wraps at the moment. Especially long sleeved wraps. They are so easy to wear in the cold weather as there is no need for a cardie (as long as worn with a not so sexy thermal vest underneath!).

This is our 1940s wrap dress. I have a couple of variations now - the original which I blogged about here and a version without a collar here. But this version, I wanted to make a little bit more funky so I made it nice and short!

The fabric I got from a trip to Goldhawk road and was £3 p/m. I love the japanese quality to the print. It is a heavy polyester crepe.

Because the fabric is a bit heavier I think I probably should have reduced the size of the lapels as they seem a bit bulky. But apart from that I am pretty pleased.

This week I am going to make an Ultimate Wrap dress - 70s style. Pop by in a week to check it out.

Happy sewing!
