We’ve got a busy Autumn ahead of us this year and we are kicking it all off next weekend with the Handmade Fair.
Started last year by craft queen Kirstie Allsopp, the Handmade Fair is back at Hampton Court Palace for 2015. We had a ball last year; the whole fair was truly amazing, so we are so pleased to be returning this year.
There are so many great crafty exhibitors – we are looking forward to sneaking a chat with Annie Sloane and are excited to watch Kirstie’s chat with children’s book illustrator Lauren Child. Now that we’ve filled our new office with plants we’ll definitely be taking a trip to the geo-fleur stand in the Shopping Village, and have already got our eye on the paper tassles workshops run by Paperpoms.
The Handmade Fair takes place on 18th, 19th and 20th September and we’ll not only be exhibiting on our stand with our patterns, kits, books and fabric, but as one of Kirstie’s Experts, our very own Lisa Comfort will be showcasing her skills in other ways too!
Mollie Makes mash up – Saturday, 10am
As she duels it out with Mr X Stitch, who is one of the world’s most well-known male embroiderers, Lisa will give you tons of tips and techniques to apply to a whole host of sewing projects. They will have just 45 minutes to transform a plain tote bag into a wonderful, wearable piece, which is sure to be a very exciting watch! Lisa won the challenge last year so she will be aiming for victory again!
Lisa talks to Kirstie – Sunday, 11am
Come and join us at the Super Theatre for Lisa’s chat with Kirstie. They’ll be making the 1930’s Cowl-Neck Dress from Lisa’s book, Sew Over It Vintage, live on stage as they chat about all things sewing. Don’t miss it!
Watch out for us on stand W86 – as well as lots of great offers, we’ll be giving away a sewing machine courtesy of Janome, AND there miiiight just be a new pattern release! Make sure you come along and say hi (and if you are wearing one of our patterns we would LOVE that too!).
Haven’t got your ticket yet? Never fear, you can snap one up here. See you there!
