Meet our New Pattern, the Giselle Dress!

Hello everyone! We’ve got another lockdown pattern for you! Meet the Giselle Dress!

Giselle is a semi-fitted but casual and contemporary midi dress. It features a double darted bodice, T-shirt length sleeves, and a sweet round neckline.

It’s shaped through the waist and hip with panels in the skirt, into which you can insert an optional cheeky split.

It closes at the centre back with an invisible zip and keyhole opening, and the neckline is finished neatly with bias binding.

Giselle has a mid-length hem, but of course you can hem it wherever you like to suit you.

Super versatile, it’s all in the fabric choice and styling with Giselle. Wear yours at the weekend, to work, for a fun evening out – she’ll even look the part at a special occasion! Keep it simple and striking in a solid fabric, choose a ditsy floral for a casual day look, or go all out with a big bold print. Giselle makes a great canvas to show off that special fabric.

A perfect base for a bit of pattern hacking, you can easily shorten or lengthen the sleeves and skirt hems, make just the skirt, or even change the skirt completely. How about creating a gathered skirt from a simple rectangle of fabric for a completely different look?

The Giselle Dress is available in our new extended size range of UK 6-30. Sizes 6-20 are drafted to our standard B cup, with the 18-30 range designed for a D cup. Both blocks overlap on size 18 and 20 so that you can choose the cup size most suited to you.

Like with Freia, the photoshoot for this pattern was a little more DIY than usual thanks to lockdown, and it means we sadly don’t have any model pictures to share. Thankfully we have our lovely team of Pattern Insiders, who have been sewing their own Giselle Dresses at home. Keep an eye on the #soigiselledress hashtag on Instagram to see those!

Snap up your Giselle Dress pattern in PDF or copyshop format on our online shop. We can’t wait to see what you make!
