Say hello to our newest PDF pattern, the Anderson Blouse!
Based on the iconic silk blouses worn by Gillian Anderson in hit series The Fall, the Anderson Blouse is a gorgeous, glamorous classic.
The delicious wrap front is sexy and sophisticated, and its stunning drape gives the blouse an effortlessly feminine feel – though it definitely still means business!
There are no darts – instead the shoulders are gathered to create subtle shaping that’s both flattering and pretty.
Fastening at the hem with a drawstring closure, the bottom of the blouse gathers to your body, giving a billowy blouson effect. There are no official fastenings at the centre front bust line but if you’d feel more secure, adding a catch stitch will still allow you to get the blouse on and off over your head.
Beautifully finished with a grown-on facing and bias binding at the back neckline, the blouse is a stunner inside and out. The fabric choices mean it’s ideal for french seaming if you prefer your innards extra special. The sleeves are topped off at the opening with a very pretty pleated cuff. We like to close it with a button but if you’re a popper kinda girl that will work too!
Smart and sophisticated, the Anderson Blouse is perfect for the office, but make it up in a fun fabric and she’s ready for an evening of cocktails on the tiles.
Lisa loves to wear it tucked in with a high waist – it makes the perfect accompaniment to the Ultimate Pencil Skirt. On the other hand it is long enough to tuck into low-rise jeans if you’re feeling the casual look.
The Anderson Blouse works best in lightweight woven fabrics with lots of drape. Think rayon challis, viscose, charmeuse, sandwashed silk and crepe de chine. This pattern will not work in cotton! Sizing and fabric requirements
The Anderson Blouse is sized between UK sizes 8-20. See the chart for details on fabric requirements.
