Join us every Wednesday for our weekly Big Sew! This will be a lovely opportunity for all our Sew Over It family to come together each week, have a chat, do some sewing and have an excuse to dress up! Everyone is welcome, from beginners to experts.

When & Where

Join us every Wednesday evening from 6.30 – 7.30pm GMT (UK time) on Zoom for our weekly Big Sew! Get together with the rest of the Sew Over It family for a chat, some sewing and an excuse to show off your latest makes!

They’ll be a fab new theme each week and plenty of hand sewing so that everyone can join in, and we can hear each other over the sound of our stitching!

It won’t just be Lisa on camera, as we’ll get to see everyone’s faces (if you choose to have your camera on, that is!), so what better excuse to dress up!

Wednesday 20th January – Mindful Embroidery

Come along to our Big Sew on Wednesday 20th January for the chance to unwind with some Mindful Embroidery. Join Lisa as she guides you through some relaxing hand embroidery, helping you to escape one stitch at a time stitch. Everyone is welcome as Lisa will be demonstrating a range of hand sewing and embroidery techniques including French knots, blanket stitches and more.

You’ll need an embroidery hoop, some natural, woven fabric to go inside your hoop, some embroidery threads and an embroidery needle. We will send you the Zoom link ahead of the event.

 

Wednesday 27th January – English Paper Piercing

Join our Big Sew on Wednesday 27th January for the opportunity to relax with some English Paper Piecing. It’s a simple hand sewing method used in traditional patchwork and quilting, which you’re going to love! Lisa will be showing you how to create a lovely Dresden Flower using this technique. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to experts! We will send you the pattern to cut out, list of materials required and Zoom link ahead of the Big Sew.

 

Wednesday 3rd February – Embroider a T-Shirt

Come along to our Big Sew on Wednesday 3rd February as we get together for a chat and some hand sewing, as Lisa demonstrates how to embroider a t-shirt. This is the perfect way to relax with some hand sewing while learn new embroidery techniques and putting some joy back into an old t-shirt you no longer wear! Everyone is welcome, from beginners to experts and you will need an embroidery hoop, some embroidery thread, an embroidery needle and a t-shirt. We will send you the Zoom link ahead of the Big Sew.

It costs £5 to come along and we’ll send you a list of the materials you’ll need and the Zoom link ahead of each week’s Big Sew.
