The Cocoon Coat is an intermediate level pattern. Most of the construction is not too tricky, but if you choose to make the welt pockets and you’ve never made them before, we recommend taking this stage slowly and paying close attention to the instructions.
Fancy a helping hand with the welt pockets? Watch our free tutorial over on Stitch School!
We recommend medium to heavy weight non-stretch fabrics such as melton wool, boiled wool, coatings, and boucle. For inspiration and to find the perfect fabric, have a look at our specially curated suggestions.
The Cocoon Coat is fully-lined, so you will also need lining fabric. We recommend using something with a silky finish so you can get the jacket on and off easily, such as satin, Bremsilk cupro, acetate, or even silk charmeuse for all-out luxury.
The Cocoon Coat is sized between UK sizes 8-20. See the chart for details on fabric requirements.
Like all our patterns, the sizes are nested to make it easier to grade between the sizes, depending on your measurements.

So what is a PDF pattern?
A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home. Simply download, print, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 2 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A DOWNLOADABLE PATTERN WHICH YOU HAVE TO PRINT. At the end of the checkout process you will receive an email with the link to your pattern and instructions.
