Fabric Suggestions
Incredibly versatile, the Penny Dress can be sewn in a huge range of woven fabrics. If you’re a beginner we recommend choosing a cotton lawn, seersucker or linen, whilst intermediate stitchers can have fun with drape, with rayon, viscose and lightweight crepes. With minimal interruptions on the bodice and skirt, there’s lots of scope to make a statement with a bold print for a trendy summer look.
Our samples are made in crepe (blue version worn with cardigan), cotton lawn (poppies print, black floral print, and blue graphic print) and viscose (navy feather print and white floral version).
Fabric Requirements
The Penny Dress sewing pattern is sized between UK sizes 8-20. See the chart for details on fabric requirements.
Like all our patterns, the sizes are nested to make it easier to grade between the sizes, depending on your measurements.

So what is a PDF pattern?
A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home. Simply download, print, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
Happy sewing!
