Sewing Level
The Ultimate Culottes is an advanced beginner sewing pattern. We recommend you have experience of inserting an invisible zip.
Fabric Suggestions
For the Ultimate Culottes you’ll need a light to medium weight woven fabric, ideally with a good amount of drape. We recommend crepe (double and triple crepe in particular), suiting, lightweight wool, peachskin, rayon, linen and viscose linen. You could also try a plisse or lightweight velvet for a super on-trend look. With minimal interruptions, there’s lots of opportunity to make a statement with a bold print, yet they also look striking and classic in a solid colour.
Lisa’s versions are made in triple crepe (navy) and lightweight crepe (polka dots).
Fabric Requirements
The Ultimate Culottes PDF sewing pattern is sized between UK sizes 8-20. See the chart for details on fabric requirements.
Like all our patterns, the sizes are nested to make it easier to grade between the sizes, depending on your measurements.
What will I receive?
The downloadable pattern file contains:
- printable pattern (in both tiled print-at-home and copyshop format)
- fully-photographed printable instruction booklet
- imperial/metric conversion size chart
The Ultimate Culottes pattern is either 32 A4/US letter pages, or 2 A0 copyshop pages.

So what is a PDF pattern?
A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper. Alternatively you can choose to have the copyshop files printed on large A0 paper, and posted to you at home. If you’re using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
