We’re pleased to invite you to take part in our Big Selfless Sew on Saturday 5th December at 2pm GMT (UK time). We’ll be LIVE on our YouTube channel where Lisa will show you how to sew a simple drawstring bag and zipped toiletries bag (both so straightforward that we’ll show you how to make them without a pattern, but you’re welcome to click the links to order one if you’d prefer).
Together we’ll sew these super useful little bags which will also double up as gift bags to house some fab toiletries and craft kits, ready to donate to our local women and children’s refuge, Solace Women’s Aid. Once you’ve completed up your bag, simply post to us at Sew Over It, 319 Essex Rd, London N1 2BD by Monday 14th December, and we’ll pack with gifts.
This event builds on the success of our previous sewalong in April, when we saw so many of you transforming your fabric scraps into the cutest drawstring bags for the same worthy cause. The women and children were delighted with your donations earlier in the year, and with Christmas just around the corner we feel it’s more important to give back wherever we can.
We’re absolutely thrilled to be teaming up with our friends at Hobbycraft for this December’s Big Selfless Sew. The Hobbycraft team have very kindly donated a whole host of amazing craft kits and art supplies for the children supported by the refuge, and we’ll also be popping some luxurious toiletries sets into gift bags for the women to enjoy during the festive season.
