Make a gorgeous dress with raglan sleeves with the Margot Dress PDF Sewing Pattern!

The Margot Dress is a woven raglan dress shaped by front and back darts in the skirt, back and shoulder darts in the bodice, plus stylish French darts at the front to complement the raglan sleeves.

We’ve given you different options so you can make Margot your own. Version 1 features 3/4-length bell sleeves and the skirt hits below the knee. Version 2 is a mini dress with full-length sleeves, including a dart at the hem that creates a gentle lantern shape.

The dress closes with an invisible zip on the side and the bodice is fully lined for a neat finish. The lining also allows you to use sheer fabrics which work especially well with the fabulous bell sleeve!

Drapey fabrics such as viscose and crepe are perfect for both versions of the Margot Dress, and the long sleeve also looks great in a light cotton with some structure, to accentuate the lantern shape.

Sewing Level

The Margot Dress is an Intermediate raglan dress sewing pattern.

Fabric Suggestions

Lightweight woven fabrics such as viscose, crepe, chiffon, or light to medium cottons for version 2. You will also need one 16” invisible zip for all sizes. Huge thanks to our friends at Sister Mintaka who provided us with the beautiful Cotton Silk fabric for Chloe’s sample and Sew Me Sunshine for the Viscose Crepe we used for Emily's sample!

Pattern Sizes & Fabric Requirements

The Margot Dress is available in UK sizes 6-30 and is split into two different blocks, sizes 6-20 (B cup) and sizes 18-30 (D cup). See the size chart below for details on fabric requirements.

Bundles, Pattern Hacks & Add-On Packs

Use a sheer fabric for your Margot to make the most of the swishy sleeves! Your bodice will already be lined, use a plain cotton lawn or alternative lining fabric for more coverage.

What is a PDF pattern?

A PDF pattern is a downloadable pattern that you print yourself at home on A4 or US letter paper.

Choose to add on A0 printing and we will print the pattern on our A0 printers and post it to you so all you need to access digitally is the instruction booklet.

If you're using the A4 or US letter options, simply download, print at home, tape together and let the sewing begin! When you print the pattern, print at 100% (you might have to uncheck the scale box). Print page 1 first, the square should measure 10cm x 10cm.
